For each story, lead a team of veteran photographers, producers and editors to ensure the content excels on a variety of platforms, including on Scripps-owned affiliates, on the Newsy cable network and OTT streaming platforms, and on partners’ platforms including the PBS NewsHour. WVEC-TV, Norfolk, Va. (ABC affiliate) | Sept. 2006 - April 2011
Investigative and political reporter. Traveled to Haiti for two weeks as one-man-band to cover earthquake aftermath. Broke a list of exclusive stories including an NTSB safety system left off Norfolk's new light rail system, a pollutant poisoning a Chesapeake neighborhood that led to a state investigation and details of a police recruit death that led to the resignation of Norfolk's police chief. Lead reporter for 2008 presidential election and 2009 Virginia gubernatorial election, covered 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, and the 2007 Michael Vick dogfighting investigation.

General assignment reporter/NASA correspondent. Covered space shuttle return to flight after Columbia disaster, frequent extended live coverage of space shuttle and rocket launches, worked as one-man-band covering Brevard County, Florida, for Orlando’s 24-hour cable station.

Statehouse reporter. Assigned to cover the 2003 Missouri legislative session in the Jefferson City capitol bureau. Developed stories and sources with Missouri’s governor and legislative leaders.
